Sugaring, a natural and effective method of hair removal, has been steadily gaining popularity around the globe. Originating from ancient practices, it has found a prominent place in modern beauty routines. Particularly in Finland, sugaring has become more than just a trend – it's a preferred method of hair removal, with a rich history dating back to 2005. In this interview with our distributor in Finland, we delve into the fascinating world of sugaring, exploring its growth, benefits, and impact on the beauty industry, both in Finland and worldwide. Join us to uncover the allure of sugaring and why it continues to captivate the interest of beauty enthusiasts around the globe.
Radeq Lab Sugaring: How did you first learn about the sugaring technique, and what caught your attention about it?
Fenix Beauty: Sugaring was introduced to Finland already in 2005. I found sugaring interesting because of the natural ingredients used in the sugar paste, which contain no resins, thereby eliminating allergenic substances from the procedure. Sugaring appeared as an innovative future solution for hair removal, and indeed, it has proven to be just that!
Radeq Lab Sugaring: When did you first encounter Radeq Lab Sugaring products, and what stood out about them?
Fenix Beauty: We discovered Radeq Lab's sugaring products online at the end of 2022. The prebiotic line immediately caught our attention. As a professional who has been performing sugaring extensively on a daily basis for the last 17 years, I can immediately tell if there's something new and extraordinary available on the market. Since sugaring has remained largely unchanged since its introduction in 2005, it was truly exciting to see a brand-new innovation in the sugaring industry in 2022.
Radeq Lab Sugaring: What has been the feedback from your clients?
Fenix Beauty: Our clients absolutely love the Premium Prebiotic sugaring pastes! These pastes remain pliable during use, apply smoothly even over larger areas, and are kind to the skin. Additionally, the side products are excellent. Everyone who has tried our pastes has become a regular user.
Radeq Lab Sugaring: What does the training process for sugarists look like in your country, and what is the current state of the Sugaring industry there?
Fenix Beauty: In Finland, sugaring is the main hair removal system and has been for years. Waxing has fallen out of favor, and sugaring is now taught in beauty schools. It's become so widespread that those who don't offer sugaring look for quality courses to become certified sugarists. The training typically consists of a one-day course, with an optional additional half-day to master special techniques, like Brazilian sugaring for both men and women. Fenix Beauty is proud to be the first in Finland to offer hands-on training for Brazilian sugaring for men.
Radeq Lab Sugaring: Could you share a personal story or experience with Radeq Lab Sugaring products?
Fenix Beauty: Introducing the new Radeq Lab sugars to our staff was nerve-wracking. We have 20 estheticians who are all highly skilled sugarists accustomed to another brand for years. Introducing a totally new brand was a gamble – the new pastes acted differently and did not harden during procedures, which was a major change. The feedback, however, was phenomenal. Our sugarists loved the new RL PP pastes and never went back to the old ones. The RL PP pastes have been a huge success across all our three salons and among a growing community of salon owners.
Radeq Lab Sugaring: What advice would you give to new sugarists?
Fenix Beauty: Be patient and take it slow. There's no need to rush the process. Practice makes perfect, and once you understand the technique, you can sugar anything effectively.
